To help you and your clients get started on the right track with handheld devices, here are some simple tips to help you find your clients’ the right PDA to avoid frustrating tech support headaches. Purchase Handheld Devices Wisely Be very cautious when considering brand-new, unproven handheld device models. Major design and software bugs are usually fixed in the first three to six months following the initial release. Unless you and your clients are prepared for the risks and demands of being an early adopter, let "someone" else endure these all-too-common headaches. Get software, peripherals and accessories bundled with your handheld device purchase. This shopping approach will not only save you money and installation time, but you’ll also dramatically reduce the compatibility risks. Know What You Are Getting Into Pay attention to vendor support offerings for handheld devices. Technical support and warrantees are not created equal! This is almost a mantra of personal technology adoption: who you buy something from is often as important (or even more important) than what you buy. Make sure the handheld device is compatible with the desired operating system. If your clients’ offices are wedded to a particular version of Microsoft Windows or another OS, be sure your PDA can sync up its data with their desktop or notebook PCs. The Bottom Line about Handheld Devices Lastly, insist on a PDA that is "well connected". USB interfaces tend to be the easiest to configure and troubleshoot, while providing the best performance. Avoid older, legacy serial interfaces whenever possible. Copyright MMI-MMVI, Computer Consultants Secrets. Laptop computer where to buy
With the fast disappearing gap between desktop computers and laptops or notebook computers in terms of computing power, more people are aiming to purchase a laptop or notebook computer to replace the less portable desktop computer. The question that looms large is how can someone get to buy a laptop or notebook computer at the lowest price, and irregardless of whether it is a new, used or a refurbished laptop computer? The answer is you can buy a laptop or notebook computer at the lowest price by removing the middleman in the transaction, where you actually buy direct from the seller without the traditional middleman. This simple solution suggests that buying the laptop online...and the largest marketplace where you can buy online is eBay! To get down to the real facts about buying a laptop computer from ebay, I personally logged into ebay to conduct a research. The first place to look up for if you are buying a laptop through ebay is to search through the category 51148 which is marked "Laptops, Notebook Computers". There you can see a large range of branded laptop computers which are being listed for selling under the auction format. Bear in mind, not all laptops are used or second hand laptops, brand new laptops are also listed for selling at the same time. Also many used laptops still carry a remaining portion of a guarantee or warranty that comes when it was first purchased new. On the day of my research into the Laptops, Notebook Computers category, I wanted to find what was the hottest laptop item listed for auction. So I began to look for laptops that were in the process of being auctioned off and which had attracted more than 20 bids. Out of 140 pages of listings containing the keyword "laptops", I searched the bids out of the first 5 pages of the listings, and discovered 20 different laptops being listed had more than the minimum 20 bids to make it a hot item or favorite. The lowest number of bids was 21 bids for a Dell X300, and the highest number of bids was 38 bids for a Dell C600 laptop. Out of the 20 different laptops being bidded with more than 20 bids, 12 were from the Dell brand, with the Dell Latitude being the most common hottest laptop being sold through ebay auctions. Second was Toshiba, with Sony being the third hottest item. While the price of the laptop being sold is dependent on many other factors such as age of the computer and the physical robustness of the laptop after physical use ( if it is aged and used before ), and specific features that came with it, generally most of the Dell laptops were within the range of $160 to $295 for a used-before Dell Latitude laptop with the Dell Inspiton 9400 bidded at $825.00 With these facts, one can start to make some preliminary decisions on his or her laptop potential purchase. By going to the ebay category 51148, on any typical day, we can find out what is the hottest brand of laptop computer being sold and at what range of prices, and whether those laptops are within out means for purchase. In my particular example, I found the hottest laptop on offer was a Dell laptop which will cost me around $160 to around $295 for a used laptop computer. Shopping online means huge savings in terms of time and money, as the auction format allows for a dynamic environment to bid for your intended purchase and allowing you to set a limit on your budgeted price. More importantly, most items , especially pre-loved and used before items can be purchased at vastly discounted price making it possible for you to buy a laptop at great discount than their inherent value.

Poker betting limit how to pick one 4 u
: Before you head for the nearest empty chair at an open poker table, hold on. There is one very important factor that you must check and verify before you start playing. What? Check the betting limit of that particular table. Why? This is what determines the professional skills of the poker players you will face and will also help you calculate approximately how much cash you need for this particular round of betting. For the Casual Poker Fan: You should try and begin by selecting a table with a low limit. Here, you will enjoy the relatively casual ambience and friendly opponents, who will not have a lot of experience playing and thus you stand a fair chance of winning. The slight problem with such games is that such kinds of tables are difficult to locate. In addition, those playing at such tables tend to play in a very conservative manner and this slows down the flow of the game. If you are still interested in looking for such tables you will be able to find them at the downtown casinos and gambling halls or at poker rooms not located on the Las Vegas strip itself such as the Palace Station. Wish to Play Texas Holdem Instead? Here too, select the lower limit games such as the 4/8 version. In this game, you will be allowed to increase only by four dollars and hence the name. Then, when you come to the last two betting rounds, you will have to double it to eight dollars. Likewise, you can also find the following limits: two and then four, three and then six, four and then eight, eight and then sixteen, fifteen and then thirty, thirty and then sixty and the last one which is pretty different to find (and which unless you are prepared to dish out large sums, you should avoid.) forty and then eight during the last two rounds of betting. How Many Chips Should You Purchase In Such Games? What you can do is multiply the end limit by about twenty and then make sure you have that amount. For example, if you wanted to join a table where the limit is two and then four. Multiply four into twenty and you get eighty. So, this is the sum of chips you must bring in to the game by buying them from the cash counters in the casino. Another option is playing Texas holdem with no limits whatsoever, but beware. Such games pull pros and then you will find yourself at a big disadvantage. For the Experienced Poker Player: Most pros prefer playing Texas holdem than other poker games. And such professionals opt for games with no limit or that have a high limit of at least fifteen dollars. Beware, these tables (You can find them in the top casinos such as the Bellagio and others on the strip.) are places where you can lose hundreds of dollars in minutes so unless you are aware of this or unless you want to swim with the sharks because you consider yourself a shark too, stay away. Conclusion: Note that sometimes the tables might be occupied and it might take you a while to get a seat. Remember that this is not an online casino where tables are always open. Have patience and wait and do not leave and just join a higher or lower limit table than the one you have decided on. Remember that the outcome of your casino experience depends on this decision.

Counting cards how to escape detection
It is not a secret for anyone that casinos do not like blackjack counters and frequently ask them to leave or to play another game. Here, we will describe how casino management detects counters and how to act when caught. We also describe the countermeasures that casinos use against skilled players but most of all we show you how to count cards while not getting caught. Do Casinos Object? Most casinos have strict policies that ban any player from counting cards when playing blackjack, but some like those in New Jersey do not pay any attention to such players. How Do You Know Whether A Casino Minds? You do not. But you had better act as if they all do and thus save yourself the embarressment of being shoved out if they do mind and if they catch you red-handed. How to Count Without Getting Detected? Always keep in mind that since card counting is something that one does silently, the only method to detect it is through observing you and the manner you play. Thus, look out for the following: 1) Do not stare at the cards of other players. Glance once, count, and then move on. 2) Do not stare at the cards that have been discarded. Look quickly and then slowly move away by shifting your gaze nonchalantly from player to player. 3) Change your pattern of betting occassionaly. 4) Change the amount of betting money each round. 5) Even though you know it, loose a round or two. Do not bet big on those rounds. But likewise do not bet too small too. If the casino notices that you are always winning big and losing small, they might get suspicious. 6) Buy chips of different colours and then mix them around while playing to confuse the dealer. 7) Talk to the other players while playing, but this is especially difficult so practice this at home before trying it at a casino. 8) Pick your seat carefully: either the first chair or the third one so that you won't have to twist your head around as the cards are dealt. 9) Dress casually because smart and elegant clothes cause the dealers to think you are intelligent and they might watch you more closely. 10) Order an alcoholic drink and pretend to sip it because they are looking for those non-drinkers who are staying sober to count the cards. The common denominator of all these is that you must never forget that the casino si watching you and how you play. Act accordingly! Supposing that the Casino Catches On, What Should you Do? Stay calm if the casino catches you counting cards and abide by their wishes quietely. Do not make a fuss. If they ask you to leave, do so. The faster you leave, the easier it will be for you to return later. Remember that if you make a fuss, they will all remember you, so desist from any unfriendly behaviour. Note that after shifts change, the new personnel won't know you so all you have to do is wait for that and then you can start playing again. You could also just enter the next casino and start earning money there instead of risking casino personnel from recognizing you.

How to prevent thieves from stealing your pdf ebooks
There are 2 main options for protecting your PDF file: OPTION 1: Use Adobe Acrobat's basic protection. Adobe Acrobat allows you to set basic protection for your PDF document. This includes: * allow/disable the ability to copy text of document * allow/disable printing of file * allow/disable changing document * require password to open document (Yes their password protection was broken a few years back, but it's still adequate protection and will keep out most people.) Ideally, to use this option you should use Adobe Acrobat, however the high cost may put that out of reach of many. Fortunately, there are MANY, MANY inexpensive PDF creators that will allow you to also set some of these permissions. Such as: pdf995.com pdffactory deskpdf There are also some standalone applications like: verypdf/encryptpdf/index. htm Overall, option 1 is what I call "static protection". Meaning, once you choose the security and then distribute the file, you cannot change the security for those files that are already distributed. For example, you distribute a file to Client A in December. In January, your relations with the client become strained and you no longer want them to have access to your file. Unfortunately, with static protection, you cannot change their access permissions. It is already "set". Though this option may allow you to prevent copying text within the file, it does NOT prevent a user from copying the entire file and redistributing it to others. Though it may allow you to require a password to access the file, the password can be easily passed around so anyone can have access. So it's not entirely secure and easily circumvented. If protection of your document is critical, you should boost protection using additional mechanisms. OPTION 2: Use a third party protection system. This option includes systems that offer "real time" control over your document. "Real time" means that you have the ability to change or alter the document security after it has been delivered to the end user. This is what I choose to focus on as it provides the greatest amount of security and post-distribution control. Some just offer basic lock and unlock ability, while others go into more extensive PDF settings that can be altered at any point. Here are some things you should be looking for when evaluating a PDF protection system. 1. Does the system offer complete protection? This the first thing you should look at because if the protection is not up to par, move on! You will never even get to the other points. When evaluating protection features, make sure you check each feature out for yourself and don't always take the company's word about protection. Many times I have seen companies advertising certain protection features on their website, but in testing, the product doesn't seem to do what is claimed. So, always check first. For PDF files, there are some basic areas that any adequate system must protect against. In order to be totally protected, the PDF security system you use MUST: * Prevent saving a copy of file. * Prevent emailing of file and exporting or extracting pages from file * Prevent copying of file from the TEMP folder * Prevent copying file and text to the clipboard * Prevent redistilling of the file * Prevent unlimited, uncontrolled printing of file * Prevent access to file without permission * Watermark all printed pages If any system that you look into does not cover these, I recommend that you move on to something that does. 2. Can you afford it? If the system passes the security test, the next thing you should look at is the cost of the system. Is it within your budget? Can you justify the price of this type of service? Do you buy the entire system and run it on your server, or is it a hosted service that charges you a monthly fee. There are pros and cons of both. If you run the system on your server then you will avoid monthly fees, but these types of systems usually require extensive programming and integration work which can increase your overall costs and take weeks to months before you get up and running. If you choose a third party system that is hosted by another company, you avoid the integration issue as most of these services can get you up and running in minutes to hours. 3. Does the system offer auto-distribution? Does it automatically deliver your document to your customers and clients hands-free? If so, does it integrate with your payment system and/or shopping cart? 4. Is the system flexible? The next thing you should look at is the flexibility. Does it allow you to tweak and modify the security options to fit your unique requirements? The ability to customize things such as program icons, customer download emails, thank you pages, etc. makes a big difference. 5. Is there any customer support? What kind of support and help will you receive when you purchase the product or service? Is their any documentation of all features and uses? What good is having the best system if you don't know how to use it? 6. Is the Company reliable? Does it protect my data? Is this company reliable? Do you feel that the the company will shut down, thus leaving your documents inaccessible and/or unprotected? Ask them what measures do they provide to ensure that your information remains protected in this event? Do they back up your data? If so, how often? 7. Can you demo the system? Most companies offer a trial or demo period for free or a small fee. You should always try the system out to see it "in action". Set it up to do exactly what you are looking for and see if it works the way you need. Never sign up or purchase something that you have not yet tested. 8. Other questions? Those are the major criteria, of course there are other things that you may want to consider such as: * What is their cancellation/refund policy? Do they require a contract or can you sign up for a month to month service? * Does their system use Acrobat Reader or another PDF viewer? If they use Acrobat Reader, do they have an Adobe DRM license which is required for all Acrobat reader security systems? * Does it allow you to contact your database of users/clients * Can you export your user database There is a lot to consider when deciding on a PDF protection system. My advice is Do NOT rush into it. Because once you choose a system and start distributing files using that system, you are stuck with it.

Junk in your trunk computer
: Home Computer Repair Repair - Got Junk In Your Trunk? Unfortunately I'm not talking about someone who has nice "ass-ets," but rather I'm talking about your home computer repair and the unnecessary junk that wastes space therein. I'm talking about spyware, junk that affects your home computer repair by installing programs that slow down your operating system, usually without your knowledge or permission. So what exactly is spyware? Spyware is software components hidden in other software. It's used primarily by companies who aim to advertise their products on your home computer repair. By using spyware, they are able to install their own programs or they attach themselves, like parasites, to Internet Explorer (IE), in hopes that you will click on one of their pop up ads, directing you to their homepage. Sometimes it is even used to report information about you, like what Web sites you are viewing, and then transmitting this information back to their server on the Internet. After this information is transmitted, your home computer repair is targeted with specific pop up ads, linking you to specific products promoted by these larger companies. But I Didn't Download This Right. No one would knowingly download a program that monitors his/her actions like Big Brother. Spyware components are hidden in software that you would download, like free game programs from mainstream companies. Thus, when you install the program, you're also unknowingly installing spyware. Another way people are fooled into downloading spyware are by clicking what they think to be a Window's error message. The message is actually a pop up window containing spyware waiting to be clicked on so it can begin installing itself into your home computer repair. And, in addition to downloading and clicking disguised messages, there's yet two more common ways it can be installed: by visiting maliciously encoded Web pages and in email programs like Microsoft Outlook who use HTML script that can also be maliciously encoded. Prevention Tactics So now that we've discussed what spyware is and how you can get it, let's talk about how to prevent it. The easiest and most simplistic thing you should do is disconnect your modem when it's not in use. This will prevent certain spyware components from enabling your modem to dial long distance numbers. If you have Windows XP, Service Pack 2 should be installed because it patches many of IE's security holes. This program contains a welcome pop up blocker and a new add-on manager that allows you to disable unnecessary programs opened while using IE. IE also has a special security feature that enables you to categorize sites as either Internet, local Intranet, restricted, or trusted. If you categorize the sites you visit, especially sites in the restricted section, IE will prevent the sites from harming your home computer repair. Additionally, Windows also offers firewall protection against malicious sites. Furthermore, whether you have Windows XP or another operating system, there are free programs like Spyware Blaster and Spyware Blocker that can be downloaded to list potentially harmful sites that can be added to your restricted area, while preventing personal information from being transmitted over the Internet. Removal Strategies The first thing you need to do is locate spyware. One way you can do this is by turning your home computer repair on in Safe Mode, then pressing CTRL+ALT+Delete to view the Task Manager. Once you see the Task Manager, click on the "Processes" tab and jot down the programs you see. Then, reboot your home computer repair and press CTRL+ALT+Delete again and write down the programs from the same sectionpare the programs and whatever programs are leftover on the list you made from when you rebooted your home computer repair, aside from anti-viral software, are probably ad-on applications created by spyware. To double check that these programs are caused by spyware, you can visit the Library, to research them. Unfortunately, there's no one program available that will detect and destroy all spyware. Fortunately, there are several free programs that you can download, that when used simultaneously, can be very efficient; programs like Lavasoft's Ad-Aware, Hi Jack This, and Spybot Search & Destroy. And, in case the spyware is difficult to remove, as in the case of a particular program called "Cool Web Search," that takes control of your homepage and then implants Trojans within it, you will have to manually remove it by using CWS Shredder, a specific program designed to shred this particularly difficult spyware. So, if you just remember to disconnect your modem when it's not in use, keep your anti-virus programs current, utilize the Internet's safety features along with your home computer repair system's firewalls, and download or purchase spyware removal programs, your home computer repair should run a lot smoother.
